To Mother Teresa
How barren my garden was:
dry, arid, lifeless.
Today I met you,
I was holding your hand:
warm, wrinkled, welcoming.
The light of your smile
light up my face.
I didn't see and you gave me back my sight,
I didn't hear and now I can listen,
I had no emotions and now I love.
My garden is full of flowers:
flourishing, fruitful, full of life.
